Meet The Coaches

I am the Founder & President of Fundamentally Sound, LLC. Born & raised in Miami, Florida. Basketball has always been a deep passion of mine. Over the years, I have developed a unique knowledge base on viewing the game through different lenses, due to being involved in just about every facet of the game. I have played at various levels from the National AAU (USSSA) circuit, all the way up to being on the Scout Team at Louisiana State University. Currently, I am certified through IMPACT Basketball's Nationally Certified Skills Instructor Program (9+ Years). I was able to referee (3) full seasons at the High School Varsity level in the State of Louisiana, as well as officiated a few JUCO games. I have also been fortunate to coach a number of teams ranging from Elementary to the High School Varsity Level (Boys & Girls), and have I trained players from Grassroots all the way to the NBA Pro Level. These diverse experiences have provided me the necessary knowledge to be able to assess & develop talent with all age groups & ability levels. The (2) key aspects as a Player Development Coach that I pride myself on & are always at the forefront of my training program are: 1) Fundamental Skill Progression & 2) Basketball IQ Development.

At an early age, basketball became a main focus for Will and with hard work and dedication he became the first player in history to score over 1,000 points in his high school. Since then, Will Porter has shown his infinite range and has become an inspiration as well as a proficient shooter, athlete, trainer and coach. His determination, passion and leadership brought him many opportunities in which one to play college basketball overseas at the Technological Institute of the Philippines. Shortly after 2 years of college basketball, Will was recruited to play professional basketball in the Philippines for La Liga Filipinas.  He also coached high school basketball and used his knowledge to help individuals’ development and strengthen their game on the court.  He does not just teach the skills, technique and strategy within the narrow confines of what is basketball. Will looks for opportunities where the more important life lessons can be taught such as mastering hardship, handling and rebounding from failures and setbacks, trusting your teammates and sacrificing individual needs for the benefit of the group. This is what he brings to Fundamentally Sound.
